We’re proud to share that we have installed a new e-boiler at our Habesha brewery in Ethiopia. This is an important milestone in our energy transition and helps us move closer to our goal: operating with net zero emissions by 2050. Melese Muche, Process Technologist Brewing, explains: “The environmental impact of the new e-boiler is huge, it produces zero emissions when in use. This will help us reduce our total CO2 emissions significantly. It’s also much more efficient at turning energy into heat compared to our old diesel boilers. And because Ethiopia’s electricity comes from 100% renewable sources, switching to electric power makes an even bigger difference. We’re very proud of this achievement.” As brewers and maltsters, we depend on nature: from the water we use to the grains we grow. That is why it is so important for us to take care of these natural resources. We are constantly investigating how we can minimize CO2 emissions within our production processes. De kampioensschaal van PSV in Lieshout: een middag om niet te vergeten! Afgelopen woensdag kleurde het Bavaria Brouwerijcafé in Lieshout rood-wit. Dankzij ons partnership met Brainport kwam de kampioensschaal van PSV naar Lieshout, een bijzonder moment voor fans uit de regio en onze medewerkers. Supporters van alle leeftijden?kwamen langs om de schaal van dichtbij te bewonderen en ermee op de foto te gaan. Het was mooi om zoveel blije gezichten te zien, verhalen van échte fans te horen en de trots van onze regio te voelen. Bij Royal Swinkels zijn we trots op onze samenwerking met Brainport Eindhoven. Eloy Artiaga Coloma, who joined Swinkels since 2022, shares his experience. As Logistics Coordinator, Eloy ensures that Cervecería Cubana in the Cuban city of Mariel gets everything it needs to produce amongst others Parranda. “Every day brings new challenges, but that is precisely what makes my job so interesting.” “I face quite a few challenges in my work, including import and export rules and customs procedures. But the unique logistics infrastructure in Cuba, the time difference and the differences in business culture also make my job very varied. Brothers Jerome Vandermeulen and Philippe Vandermeulen opened their first Manhattn’s in Brussels in 2014, driven by a passion for quality food. When expanding to Ghent, they started their partnership with Swinkels, who owned the perfect location. Jerome: “Our restaurants focus on quality. Everything we do is related: it has to fit our DNA. The story of Manhattn’s and Swinkels is one about craftsmanship and history; we complement each other perfectly.” Jerome: “Swinkels provides just that little bit extra that makes the collaboration such a good match. They are a family business as well, which means that we speak the same language. Steven (account manager at Swinkels Belgium) contributes his own perceptions and advises on beers that perfectly match our products.
